Applied Behavioral Health Practice

Does this sound familiar?

Constantly acting on impulse — chatter, touching everything, climbing on everything — even when they know better.

Epic battles over simple requests like getting dressed or started on homework, brushing teeth, or cleaning up.

Emotional outbursts that seem to happen out of nowhere, last forever, and leave you drained and unsure of what to do next.

If you’re nodding along in agreement, this could be a sign your child’s brain works differently.

You deserve a home that feels peaceful again

Every parent wants their home to be a place of love, patience, and connection.

But when ADHD behaviors like impulsivity, defiance, and emotional outbursts take over, it’s easy to feel like you’re walking on eggshells.

The good news? Change is possible. With the right support, you can create a home where cooperation replaces conflict, and understanding replaces frustration.

Your child deserves ADHD care now.

Parenting made easy

Personalized parenting strategies that work for you and your child

You’ll receive personalized behavioral parent training. You’ll learn these four easy-to-follow steps tailored specifically to your situation:

  1. Notice the pattern

  2. Appreciate the reason

  3. Set them up for success

  4. Follow through

Kids with ADHD hear 20,000 more negative messages than their friends by the time they turn 12.

You’ll learn the behavioral patterns causing others to react to your child in frustration. By understanding the patterns, you’ll identify the coping strategies your child needs.

In California, roughly 4 out of 10 kids with ADHD are receiving behavioral therapy.

Kids with ADHD who receive behavioral therapy have better long-term outcomes. The younger they receive behavioral therapy, the better.

Kids with ADHD don’t lack focus. They have difficulty regulating attention.

Your child may have difficulty sitting for extended periods of time, which impacts meal time, bed time, and so many other routines. You can learn to help them regulate their attention in these situations so they experience deep connection during family activities.

FAQ

  • At ABHP, we've partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits. Mentaya is perfect if you:

    • Have out-of-network benefits

    • Feel overwhelmed by superbills and insurance

    • Have submitted superbills but failed to get any reimbursement

    • Simply want to skip the hassle of paperwork!

    Here's how it works:

    1. Sign up for Mentaya: https://mentaya.co/inviteclient/er6EkItFhkWiQuAnu47K

    2. Our practice will enter your sessions into the platform.

    3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up.

    4. You get reimbursed by insurance! Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies. It's risk-free: They guarantee claims are successfully submitted, or a full refund of their fees.

  • As you know, getting diagnosed with ADHD is a long process. At ABHP, you do not need an ADHD diagnosis to participate in behavioral therapy or coaching.

Although an ADHD diagnosis may be required by your insurance, if you choose to go that route, care at ABHP is still affordable.

  • As a BCBAⓇ, I cannot evaluate nor diagnose. If you are pursuing a diagnosis, I can help you prepare for conversations with your PCP, your child’s pediatrician, or other provider.

  • Although much of my professional courses are tailored to ADHD, the principles of applied behavior analysis are effective with many populations.

  • Yes, I do! My executive function coaching is for adolescents and adults.

  • I do not offer psychotherapy. As a BCBA, I practice applied behavior analysis (or ABA). Although talking is part of behavioral therapy, our points of intervention will focus on motivation, skills, and behavior.
